In the M.P.A. there are three Zones, A-B-C, with a different kind
of rules for the protection of the enviroment.

The Zone A, called zone
of total reserve, is the one in which there is the higthest
level of protection.
It covers the west part of island of Serpentara.
In this area is forbidden to enter.
The only people allowed to enter are from the M.P.A. organisation
(reserchers, students, rangers).
With permission is possible to dive but only with a professional
diver guide authorized by the M.P.A..
The
Zone B, called zone
of general reserve, has less strict rules.
This area includes the east part of island of Serpentara, the island
of Cavoli, the Cape called Capo Carbonara and the shoals of Berni
and Libeccio.
In this area you are allowed to sail in with boat but should be
not more than 10 knots, to go swimming, you can moor your boat in
the segnalated areas, you can go fishing (sport fishing), but only
with permission, you can dive with permission and with professional
diver guide authorized by the M.P.A. Professional fishing are allowed,
but only by local resident.
The
rest of the marine protected area falls in to Zone
C, called zone of partial reserve.
In this area you are allowed to sail in with boat but should be
not more than 20 knots, to go swimming, you can moor your boat in
the segnalated areas, you can go fishing (sport fishing), but only
with permission, you can dive with permission and with professional
diver guide authorized by the M.P.A. Professional fishing are allowed,
but only by local resident.
In all the M.P.A., without making any differences between Zone A-B-C,
underwater fishing is forbidden.
It is also forbidden to anchor your boat in the area where the "Posidonia
oceanica" grows.
